Canyonville, Oregon... Sutherlin Mayor Joe Mongiovi will be on hand Tuesday, January 9, at the Cow Creec Umpqua Indian Foundation awards ceremony to accept the Buss Rondeau Award on behalf of the City of Sutherlin. Sutherlin was selected as the Buss Rondeau recipient because of it's dedication to finding funds for new library.

Buss Rondeau, who passed away in 2000, was a Cow Creek Tribal Board member and a founding member of the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation of Directors. During his adult years, Buss Rondeau resided in Sutherlin.

"Buster felt that providing opportunities for the education were the keys to personal success," said sue Shaffer, Tribal Foundation Board Chair.

Among the recipients in earlier years of the Buss Rondeau Award are: Grants Pass High School Foundation for their College Dreams program, the Sutherlin Booster Club, and Sugarloaf Community Association.
