In 2007, the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation board of directors voted to reserve a percentage of funds during each grant round. The original intent was to reserve funds, allowing the Foundation to save enough for an occasional substantive award for special projects. Due to unpredictable economic challenges in our communities, the Foundation board has chosen to temporarily suspend this decision, allowing for more dollars to go to work in assisting children and families become successful.
